Girija Devi

Girija Devi was born in Benares in 1929, Girija Devi started Indian classical music training at five years old with the singer - sarangi player Pt. Sarju Prasad Misra and then, after his death, from Pt. Chandra Misra.

She is , along with Siddeshwari Devi and Purnima Chaudhuri a member of the 'Purbi' ang.
